Welcome to Nippers Corner Pet Medical Center

From an early age, Dr. Judy Torchia dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. She developed a love of working with animals from growing up in a Wisconsin farming community and assisting at a veterinary hospital at the young age of 11. Many children have the same dream of working with animals, but Dr. Torchia followed through with her goals by attending the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine and earning her degree in 1986.

Dr. Torchia owned a Florida veterinary hospital for seven years and spent time teaching at her alma mater as a guest professor. Dr. Torchia then moved to the Nashville area, where she lives with her daughter, Clare, and her Golden Retrievers, Forrest & Chance.

Dr. Abby Stephens is a graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of the South- Sewanee majoring in Psychobiology and minoring in French. Dr. Stephens began practicing veterinary medicine in Austin, Texas before making Nashville her home. She has a special interest in feline medicine, internal medicine and pet dermatology.

Outside the vet hospital, you can find her running, rock climbing, or practicing yoga. Dr. Stephens and her husband, Jesse, live in Nashville with their 2-year-old daughter Veda who keeps them both very busy. Their house is also bustling with their canine children, Xan and Chelsea, and three beautiful cats, Jackson, Phoebe, and Ginny.
